Public Consultations and Recent Local Virtual Neighbourhood Meetings
In April 2021, a series of well attended online public consultations took place where The Community Partnership sought to hear the ideas of residents and users of the North Inner City on the safety issues that are currently affecting our communities of the North Inner City.
Details of the meetings were communicated by a multimedia campaign including direct letters to every household, every business and a range of local organisations, a social media campaign and a strong multilingual poster campaign in the area.
The engagement provided an opportunity to discuss ideas of how our communities could work together with a range of our state services and our elected councillors to help improve our sense of safety within our communities.
Following our initial area wide meeting a further series of local neighbourhood meeting were held in both May and October where more specific local issues were discussed and reviewed. The local meetings also provided an opportunity to provide an update on the work of the Partnership.
Although our public health circumstance has confined our meetings to date as online experiences – they provide the basis for us to build strong and sustainable local relationships in our local communities.
Our objective is for us all to work together to address very local issues which affect our daily lives and our feelings of safety – a broad range of specific issues have been raised and we and our partners and exploring old and new ways of dealing with common issues from illegal parking, to persistent dumping, to on street drug dealing and much more.
We’d like to have you on the journey with us.
If you wish to join the next series of local meetings please email us at communitysafety@dublincity.ie– with your contact details and the area in which you live and we’d be delighted to have you along at our next series of local meetings.
